MediaPlatform, when backed by a CDN functions as follows:

1. Producer/Author with a web browser accesses MediaPlatform and start a publishing wizard based on the type of content they want to create.
    
2. MediaPlatform steps the producer/author through a process of encoding audio or video using the telephone, a webcam or a high-end video camera.
    
3. The producer/author browses for any other content, like a PowerPoint presentation, PDF documents or survey questions and uploads and converts the content into standards based formats that are easily viewed through standard web based players with a single click.
    
4. The producer can then invite any number of people to come view the on-demand content or attend the live event. MediaPlatform viewers receive an invitation, and can then view the content in any web browser, from anywhere in the world. The CDN insures that viewers have a good viewing experience.

No browser plug-ins beyond a standard media player are required. As a web-based application, MediaPlatform is capable of running in virtually any environment. MediaPlatform can also support very high production value events from a corporate, broadcast, or service provider studio, where video is professionally encoded and injected into the CDN.
